About This Place

Nestled in the heart of Albuquerque, Dog House Drive In is a beloved local gem serving up classic American fast food with a flavorful Southwestern twist. Specializing in hot dogs and quick bites, this unassuming roadside stand has earned its place not only in the community's heart but also on the small screen, famously featured in hit shows like Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul. Whether you’re craving a roadside snack or a satisfying meal, Dog House Drive In delivers a delicious and nostalgic dining experience.

The star of the menu is undoubtedly their iconic foot-long hot dogs, especially the Foot Long Chili Dog and the Foot Long Chili Cheese Dog with Onions. Each hot dog is expertly fried to a crisp, nestled in perfectly toasted buns that add just the right touch of golden crunch. The chili, with its teasing hint of New Mexico spice, offers a rich and hearty flavor that complements the juicy hot dogs beautifully. If you’re in the mood for a bit of variety, the Corn Dog and the Chicken Sandwich are also favorite picks among regulars.

What truly sets Dog House Drive In apart is their commitment to quality and freshness, paired with wallet-friendly prices starting as low as $1.30 for a Corn Dog. The sides are equally satisfying, with the Chili Cheese Tater Tots, Red Chile Cheese Fries, and Onion Rings all boasting the perfect balance of crispness and seasoning. For something sweet and cooling after a savory meal, their classic Root Beer Float and Cherry Shake offer a nostalgic finish, evoking fond memories of old-fashioned soda fountains.

Stepping inside, you'll find a no-frills, friendly atmosphere that invites you to focus on what matters most—the food. It’s the kind of place where locals and visitors come together, sharing stories and enjoying comfort food made with care. Clean bathrooms and attentive staff enhance the overall welcoming vibe, making it easy to linger over your meal or grab a quick bite on the go.

Customer experiences serve as a testament to Dog House Drive In’s charm. Elizabeth Sullivan was “pleasantly surprised” during a road trip stop, savoring the corndog, chili dog, cheeseburger, and fries—all “yummy” and reason enough to return. For TV fans, visiting the exact same spot seen on Breaking Bad is an exciting treat, with one customer highlighting the chili dog with cheese as “great.” Anthony J Martinez praised the perfectly cooked, still-crisp fries and the fried hot dogs with toasted buns, calling the staff “extremely friendly.” Meanwhile, J Centavo appreciates Dog House Drive In as “good old style hot dogs,” noting their quality “just a bit better than Sonic.”

Whether you’re a dedicated hot dog enthusiast or simply looking for a hearty, flavorful meal in an iconic setting, Dog House Drive In offers a unique slice of Albuquerque’s culinary and cultural landscape. Its blend of mouthwatering flavors and authentic local appeal promises not just a meal, but a memorable experience you’ll savor long after your last bite.

Pleasantly surprised! We stopped here on a whim during our road trip and it was so tasty. We had a corndog, chili dog, cheeseburger, and fries. All was yummy and we will be back whenever we are in town again! The bathrooms were also very clean!

It’s the exact same place in breaking bad and better call Saul. The chili dog with cheese is great, and corn dog as well.

My first time is the Dog House and I can tell you I will definitely be back. I ordered the foot-long and some french fries and my friends order Frito pies. The staff is extremely friendly. The food is absolutely good. The hotdog comes fried. They toast the buns the french fries are perfectly cooked by the time I walked back to work the fries were still crisp no soggy ones at al. The Frito pies have a small little kick in it, so delicious. They put a whole hamburger inside the Frito pie when you order it. I will definitely will be back. Good job Doghouse.

Nothing fancy here just good old style hot dogs. THAT and this place was a regular on breaking bad. My son got a chili dog here and said they're just a bit better than Sonic... But he loves Sonic. If you're a hot dog nut, you'll like this place.

We came to the Dog House purely for the experience, since it’s been featured in both Better Call Saul and Breaking Bad, and it was really awesome getting to see it in person. Me and my wife both ordered the chili cheese dog, our daughter got a corn dog, and we all shared a side of onion rings with three cherry shakes. Everything was great! The chili had a bit of spice to it—different than what we’re used to but very enjoyable. The onion rings were perfectly crisp and flavorful, easily some of the best we’ve had. Our daughter loved her corn dog, and even my wife, who normally isn’t a big corn dog fan, took a bite and ended up liking it too. Overall, it was an awesome experience with delicious food. We’d definitely come back!

I am visiting Albuquerque from out of state and this was one of the stops shown in Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul that I wanted to see in person. I was there during the day so I didn’t get to see the sign lit up, but that’s okay. I dined in, the lady was very friendly. I got a cheeseburger with onions. It had pickles, tomatoes and I think maybe mustard and mayo. Very good burger. Overall it was a cute place. Not a ton of seating inside but pretty intimate, good experience. Lots of options. Also it was clean. I sat at the counter so I didn’t have to wait for a table or anything.

My dad has been bringing me here my entire life. His dad brought him there since he was a kid. Hot dogs and red chile hit the same today for me as when I was young. My dad agrees. Same small restaurant that it has always been. Never sold out for an updated larger spot. That's part of the char.!
